Will Judwaa 2 Be Half As Good As Salman’s Judwaa?

Bollywood is all set for the release of the latest Varun Dhawan movie ‘Judwaa 2‘ this weekend – 29th September 2017. As you all know, the film is a remake of the 1997 action-comedy film Judwaa, starring none other than Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

Now since the film is a remake, there are obviously going to be comparisons made between the two films. If you ask me, I would vouch for the original Salman film to turn out to be much better, without even watching Judwaa 2. However, the remake is certainly going to rake in much more money at the Box Office.

The story is somewhat the same, where two brothers are separated at birth (Prem & Raja). They can feel what the other feels, inclusive of happiness, sadness, pain, laughter or any other feeling. The movie is another action-comedy where the two brothers come together to battle a smuggling ring and save their family.

Comparisons

The original Judwaa was a hit for many years and I would enjoy watching that movie if it’s on TV even today. The story was unlike any other at the time and of course, who doesn’t like a Salman Khan film? David Dhawan directed the original and there was no one better to direct the remake than himself.

Karishma Kapoor & Rambha were the actresses in the original movie while the sizzling hot Jacqueline Fernandez will appear with Taapsee Pannu in Judwaa 2. The film will also see a remake of the iconic bubble bath scene that Salman did in Judwaa 1.

The villain in Judwaa was Mukesh Rishi, an actor who did a brilliant job as a villain in every movie that he did. Here in part 2, we have a villain who doesn’t really look very menacing and doesn’t seem like someone you would get scared of easily (Vivan Bhatena).

Who did it better?

Iconic songs like Oonchi Hai Building and Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12have been remade in this movie while a couple of new songs have also been added; one thing for sure is that the glamour quotient has definitely been upped in the remake.

While the story line has been tweaked a bit and this film would appeal more to today’s generation, I have a strong feeling that fans would rather watch the original Judwaa once again than waste money to watch Judwaa 2 in theaters.

However, something that could guarantee to bring in audiences to cinemas for this film is Salman’s cameo in the movie. What do you guys think? Can Judwaa 2 give the original a run for its money? Don’t forget to leave your comments and let us know what you think!
