Post TRAI Circular, Poor Videocon D2H Services

It has been three days since I’ve been able to watch a channel on my television at home. I made a recharge once, made a recharge twice and today, the third time. After three days of thinking it’s my mistake, we know now that several thousand Videocon D2H customers across the country are facing similar subscriptions issues.

This happened post the recent TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) circular on selecting channels and paying for them as per requirements. What are the problems being faced since then, you ask? Continuous crash in the Videocon D2H website, unresponsive customer care lines, no reply to emails and basically, no television channels.

What’s the point of being such a reputed company if you don’t treat your customers with respect? Sure, everyone has issues and technical glitches, but here, payments are being accepted, services not being commenced, and queries not being responded to. What’s worse is that the D2H website is barely responsive at the moment, with lakhs of users currently on the server, trying to reach a representative. Their website since hours looks like this:

Videocon D2H website unavailable

I’m not sure about others, but my subscription ended just a couple of days back. Upon recharging multiple times, my money has been accepted by Videocon, but sadly, I’m still without any channels on my TV screen. We’ve been trying to reach customer care since a few days but to no avail either.

On contacting multiple other D2H users, Read Scoops found that a couple managed to get through to customer support, but received very standard or even negative responses. Here are a few screenshots of my personal transactions:

Videocon D2H failure of services
Videocon D2H accepting payments but not resuming services

Videocon D2H accepting payment but not working

These are the kind of instances which would want to make you change your television provider immediately, regardless of whether or not you have enjoyed good service from them over the years. While this issue may be resolved at a future date, it would be a much happier situation if Videocon replied to queries and relaxed its agitated customers across India.

Videocon is already in trouble with their Chairman Venugopal Dhoot involved in a huge debt and illegal business activities case. Could this be the end of Videocon D2H as we know it? Could they become the Kingfisher Airlines of the television providers industry? Twitterati has gone berserk with this pathetic customer support behaviour. Take a look:
