Not a lot of internationally acclaimed musicians have come from the island of Jamaica over the years, with a few exceptions like Bob Marley and Omi. Among these names is KiSean Anderson, better known as Sean Kingston, a 28-year old Reggae fusion, hip hop, dance and R&B singer. Kingston became a household name for his 2007-hit “Beautiful Girls” and 11 years later, he was set to make his debut in Mumbai.
“I am super excited to visit India; especially since it would be great to rock it with all the fans out here. I am preparing myself for the Indian audience and looking forward to the experience. The three things that come to my mind when I think of India – culture, talent and fans. I’m sure everyone will love it when we burn the dance floor. I am looking forward to building a vibe with India and its people,” he said about coming to India.
Having performed before in India, Kingston announced his Mumbai debut with a gig at Lord of the Drinks, Lower Parel, Mumbai. His fans were super excited to hear him singing some of his most famous songs like “Beautiful Girls”, “Me Love”, “Eenie Meenie”, “Fire Burning”, “Take You There” and others, at the show scheduled for 9:30pm on 25th October.
Kingston and general pop music fans alike lined up at Lord of the Drinks, a famous nightclub in Kamala Mills, Lower Parel, which is known best for having Asia’s longest bar. Well, Kingston was pretty late in turning up at the venue but let’s face it, it was well worth the wait, giving the people present a night to remember once he did turn up.
