Best Tweets From India’s Win Against West Indies in the 5th ODI

Team India had to chase another low total last night, but this time they did it with ease, unlike in the 4th ODI. They received a lot of criticism after they messed up the chase in the 4th ODI but yesterday they did it like bosses, as India got over the line with more than 13 overs to spare. Also, they wrapped up the series 3-1!

We at Read Scoops have compiled the best tweets from that 5th ODI victory:

West Indies won the toss (AGAIN) and elected to bat first once again, and they seemed to have some hope as the Hope brothers were striking the ball well. Finally, elder brother Kyle was dismissed for 46, while Shai went on to make 51.

Umesh Yadav had a very bad game, with a several balls bowled without a lot of thought being put into them. However, he had one good over where he struck twice in an equal number of balls to reduce WI from 76/1 to 76/3.

A Classic Caribbean Collapse was expected after this, and that’s exactly what happened as they lost wickets regularly and they struggled their way to 205/9, thanks to some wagging from the tail. To be honest, there’s not much expected from a team that bats Jason Holder so high up the order.

Shikhar Dhawan had his third successive failure while Ajinkya Rahane missed a chance to go past 50 for the fifth consecutive time, which would’ve broken many records; he scored 39 – 11 runs short.

A Virat Kohli century was long pending and he finally got one, breaking many records himself.

Let’s not forget that Dinesh Karthik played a fantastic knock of 50(52)* as well, rotating the strike superbly. It was a while since his last ODI fifty:

Kohli won yet another Man of the Match award, while Ajinkya Rahane was awarded a well deserved Man of the Series award. What a way it was for MS Dhoni to celebrate his 36th birthday. Happy birthday, legend!
