It’s been a pretty decent season so far for the Mashonaland Eagles who began with a loss and then recovered with 2 consecutive wins before losing their fourth and latest game. It’s now their final chance in the 2020 Pro50 Championship and they play in Match 11 of the tournament against a pretty tough opponent.
They’re up against Matabeleland Tuskers who have been flawless this tournament so far, currently on top of the points table with 4 wins in 4 games. This is the first time these two will face off this season and the Tuskers are clear favourites for this encounter. - Head to head in last 5 games, Mashonaland leads 3-1.
- Tinashe Kamunhukamwe in last 3 innings – 45, 81*, 68.
- Wesley Madhevere – 57 and 4/48 in the last game this season.
- Sean Williams – 12 wickets in 4 games so far this season.
Tinashe Kamunhukamwe has proved to be brilliant with the bat so far in the 2020 Pro50 Championship and I won’t be too surprised if he carries on this form, currently having 195 runs in 4 games despite just scoring 1 in the first game. Along with him, I want Elton Chigumbura in my side primarily because of all his international experience; he played a great knock of 70 in the last game.
Though he’s only 19 years old, Wesley Madhevere is someone to watch out for in the future. The all-rounder was fabulous with both bat and ball in the last game and me picking him as fantasy team captain gave dividends to everyone. Last month, he bagged a 4-fer and scored a fifty against England U-19 as well. With 59 runs and a wicket in 4 games so far, Tony Munyonga could be your potential winning pick.
Now captain of the national side as well, Sean Williams has been in prime form, currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament and also the team’s second highest run scorer with 2 fifties in 4 games. You can pick him as vice-captain of your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team because almost all teams will select him as captain; he has 129 runs in 3 innings with the bat so far.
Talking about runs and international experience, we also have Craig Ervine in the side who is easily one of the best batsmen in the country right now, with scores of 38* and 40 in 2 games this tournament. If you have to get a bowling pick, I’d go in for Christopher Mpofu because he’s been a part of the national set up since years, and has at least a wicket in every game so far.
