I’ll drop him and pick Soumya Sarkar instead, who has also had a poor campaign with 144 runs in 7 ODIs but he has picked up 4 wickets in 2 bowling innings and will be a less popular pick. Mushfiqur Rahim was hit in the elbow but is most likely to play; wait for the toss on this decision.
Don’t expect many changes for Bangladesh as they would want to end on a high. Picking Shakib al Hasan is a no-brainer as he has had a record-breaking World Cup with 11 wickets and 542 runs, something that no one else has achieved in the history of the Cricket World Cup. He should be your captain in one-on-one contests. Another valuable player is Mohammad Saifuddin who has picked up 10 wickets in 6 games, and also scored a lovely 51* against India.
Pakistan
Pakistan my fiddle around with their order a bit. Asif Ali has not got too much game time and they might bring him in for Haris Sohail if required. On the other hand, this will be 38-year old Mohammad Hafeez’s last World Cup match so pick him for sure; the all-rounder has 226 runs and 2 wickets but is capable of much more, having bowled in every game so far. Also, he seems to throw away his wicket after good starts.
Wahab Riaz also may have a slightly niggle so if he isn’t 100% fit, Pakistan can give a game to Mohammad Hasnain, who is yet to get a WC debut.
