Not too many times do you get to see a team playing two games in one day. At least, not in international cricket. Just a couple of hours back. we put up a fantasy preview of the 1st T20 between Belgium and Germany. Now, an hour after the end of the first game is the scheduled start of the second game of the series, at the same ground.
Germany batted first in the 1st T20 and put up 128/7 which goes to show that it’s probably a pitch on the slower side. Belgium utilized 6 bowlers and all of them picked a wicket each. Tiredness will also be a factor so once again, I’d have more of bowlers in my team than batsmen. Keep reading for our complete MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy preview of the BEL vs GER 2nd T20…
- Tournament: Germany tour of Belgium 2019.
- Date: 11th May 2019, 6:30pm IST
- Venue: Royal Brussels Cricket Ground, Brussels
- Capacity: Unknown
- Series status: Second game of 3-match T20 series.
- Belgium won the ICC World Cricket League 8 qualifier in 2012.
- Germany is placed 36th in the ICC T20I rankings.
- Belgium is placed 45th in the ICC T20I rankings.
- Head to head, Germany lead Belgium, 1-0.
Faisal Khaliq was listed down to captain the home team but he didn’t end up playing at all. Instead, it was Raja Saqlain Ali who led the Belgian troops. Pick this player as there hasn’t been a lot of information on this game. Aziz Mohammad returned with the best bowling figures of 1/18 and I’ll retain this player as he comes with a lot of experience.
Pick Mohammad in your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) team also because he opens the batting too. He scored 19(21) but his chances of getting a hit are higher than those lower down the order. Both openers Mohammad and Syed Mussayab Jamil were dismissed by Ahmed Wardak, so ensure you pick that bowler too.
Daniel Weston came into this game with three consecutive 50+ T20 scores but unfortunately, he was knocked over for a DUCK in the 1st T20. However, he bats as an opener, which is much higher than the Belgian wicket-keeper Noor Momand. Also, Weston has a much better record so I’ll ignore than duck and pick him again. Harmanjot Singh was the highest scorer with 39*.
Rishi Pillai was touted to lead the side but he didn’t even end up playing. The South African-German Dieter Klein didn’t get a game either. Venkatraman Ganesan scored only 3 but he was captain for the 1st T20, so picking him makes sense as he will be playing for sure. Izatullah Dawlatzai, former Afghanistan quick bowler, is your x-factor player and you can’t miss him in your fantasy team for the 2nd T20.
