IPL 2019 Match 16 – DC vs SRH Fantasy Preview

Delhi Capitals may have still not recovered from that shocking loss against Kings XI Punjab in their last game, with their tally this year now at 2 wins in 4 games. They have been the worst performing team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and their game against KXIP brought back horrors of the past. Now, they will have to be back much stronger, but it’s going to be tough after having lost 8 wickets for 7 runs to lose that game. Shocking!

Skipper Shreyas Iyer posted to social media saying they will be back stronger, but will they? They play Match 16 of IPL 2019 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are arguably one of the most balanced teams in the competition, with 2 wins in 3 games so far this season. Delhi play at home and that’s the only positive point for them. Read our complete PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy preview of the game here…

Delhi

Like I mentioned in the fantasy preview of the DC vs KXIP game, Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan are going to be the most crucial batsmen to DC’s chances, not Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant. Why? The major experience factor. Dhawan has 43, 51, 16, 30 while Iyer has 16, 18, 43, 28 this season so far, meaning both are getting starts but giving away their wickets at vital times. Iyer had 411 runs in 14 games in IPL 2018 and will be vital to DC’s campaign this year too.

Chris Morris has made a huge impact to the team ever since he has joined the squad, with 4 wickets in 2 games already. He also has the ability to hit the long ball if needed to at the death overs, so I won’t mind making him my captain or vice-captain, rather than everyone else who will be naming Warner their captain. With the gloves too, Rishabh Pant will be extremely popular, so I’d skip him for the less expensive and in-form Bairstow.

Hyderabad

In the last game of SRH this season, they scored 231 in 20 overs thanks to centuries from Jonny Bairstow as well as David Warner, while Nabi cleaned up with the ball and Rashid Khan is the first on the team sheet. This means that Kane Williamson, who sat out in the last game to rest his shoulder, will be out again. The team is doing perfectly at the moment. Avesh Khan was hit for 30 runs in 3 overs in the last game and he may be axed for Amit Mishra.

Warner has hit a purple patch with 65+ scores in all three games. Making him your captain will not benefit you in major fantasy leagues, unless you are playing a 1-on-1 contest. Manish Pandey will be picked by very few fantasy teams with scores of just 8*, 1, and DNB so far in IPL 2019. If you are one who could take the odd gamble, why not skip Warner for Pandey? Also, Mohammad Nabi is my captain for this encounter.
