IPL 2019 Match 54 – RCB vs SRH Fantasy Preview

One team has everything on the line today while the home team has nothing but pride to play for. And of course, to be party poopers in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Royal Challengers Bangalore have been good in their last few games while Sunrisers Hyderabad are struggling to deal with all the losses of players leaving for international duties.

An example of that is the reverse fixture, where Bairstow and Warner smashed centuries and thrashed RCB, but they’re both not here anymore. At the start of the day, three teams are fighting for that last playoffs berth and Sunrisers will reach 14 points if they win today. Stats

  • In the reverse fixture, SRH beat RCB by 118 runs.
  • 83*, 61, 36, 71* – Manish Pandey’s last four scores in IPL 2019.
  • Head to head, SRH lead RCB, 8-5.
  • DNB, 3, 6 – Heinrich Klaasen’s scores so far this season.

Bangalore

RCB may consider going in for 3 overseas players again. Marcus Stoinis left to join the national side, which means they have three options in Shimron Hetmyer, Tim Southee and Colin de Grandhomme. Wait for the toss and pick Hetmyer in your fantasy team if he’s included. Heinrich Klaasen hasn’t been effective so far in IPL 2019 but he could be the x-factor player in your team if you join the grand league. I expect him to sign off for RCB in style.

With the ball, Yuzvendra Chahal becomes your first and automatic pick. The RCB pacers haven’t been great this year so you can choose one between Navdeep Saini (9 wickets) and Umesh Yadav (8 wickets). Alternatively, you can choose Washington Sundar who has only 1 wicket in his 2 games this year, but completion of his 4 overs early in the innings is a high possibility. However, both teams don’t have great lower order batsmen which could mean swinging in the death overs and wickets to the pacers.

Hyderabad

With RCB having a few left-handers in their batting line-up, we might see Mohammad Nabi having a big role to play in this game. He was finally given the chance to have a hit in the middle in their last game against MI and he almost got them over the line. His massive hitting abilities means he should be 100% in your team today and should also be considered as a captain or vice-captain. His economy rate in powerplay overs this year is an outstanding 4.5!

The next person you can’t ignore is Manish Pandey who, after sitting out for a few games, is hitting the ball cleaner than I’ve ever seen him before. The wicket-keeper pick will be a tricky one here as both Wriddhiman Saha and Parthiv Patel have been giving their respective teams good starts in the powerplay overs in IPL 2019, but I may consider Saha as Nabi vs Parthiv early on could mean trouble for the southpaw. Billy Stanlake could also be considered in place of Martin Guptill.
