I have not seen a more stable and mature Bangladesh cricket team in years, one which is able to consistently put up strong performances like they are doing currently in the 2019 Ireland ODI tri-series. They won 3 of their 4 games in the round robin with one being washed out and very rightly earned the top of the table position.
As for West Indies, they decimated Ireland in both their encounters but lost both their games to Bangladesh. In fact, they weren’t even in with a chance in both those games, losing comprehensively. Bangladesh
Bangladesh has been unbeaten in this series and in the last game, no one in the top 5 scored less than 35 and that just goes to show how solid the top order is. Once again, I’ll drop Shai Hope and pick Mushfiqur Rahim as my wicket-keeper and this gamble could pay off big time if it works. 32*, 63, 35 have been Rahim’s scores so far and batting at #4 gives him a lot of chances of being at the crease for long.
Again, pick both openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar, both of whom have a great record here with 132 and 146 runs here respectively. Sarkar is coming off some brilliant form having also recently scored a historic domestic double century. Shakib al Hasan may be out with a side strain and Liton Das would be the right replacement after his fifty in the last game. Spinners have been ineffective on these seaming wickets, so I’ll skip Mehedy Hasan.
West Indies
As for West Indies, the opening partnership will be key. Shai Hope has been amazingly consistent throughout while whoever has been tried with him has also scored at least a century each. However, that middle order has been failing and if the foundation is not set, Windies could be in trouble. Bravo has had a pathetic series with 9*, 1, 17, 6 so far and picking him could be your gold mine as there won’t be a huge percentage of fantasy teams playing him. With the ball, Kemar Roach hasn’t been able to pick up wickets with only 3 so far in 4 games. Pick the other two pacers in Sheldon Cottrell and Shannon Gabriel, while Jason Holder could be your captain or vice captain especially after his fifty in the last ODI.
