Two members from their squad who played in IPL 2019 are Siddhesh Lad and Shivam Dubey. Lad played one game for Mumbai where he smashed a six off the first ball of his IPL debut followed by a four on the second. He’s the most likely opener for SPL and he could be your vice-captain today.
My captain slot would be reserved for Shivam Dubey who smashed 3 sixes and a four in the final over of MPL 2018’s final. Known for his big hitting abilities, Dubey picked up 4 wickets in the 2 games he played at the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With the ball, Vijay Gohil could be an important part of the team. Having played for Mumbai U-19s and in the Irani Trophy, Gohil is a wicket-taking bowler.
ARCS Andheri
Firstly, ensure your wicket-keeper comes from ARCS Andheri, Sufiyan Shaikh. He bats as an opener and scored 30 and 7 in his two games. Although, I’m picking him because there are a couple of wicket-keeper options in the SPL squad and we aren’t sure who will play. In his 2 matches so far, captain Kevin Almeida scored 17 and 18 in his two games so far but batting at #3 gives him more chances of scoring big. He also brings himself on with the ball once in a way.
Another person with IPL experience is opener Akhil Herwadkar, who has been brilliant so far and he should be one of the first in your Funtasy11 (sign-up with code “6CD431“) fantasy team. We spoke about Tushar Deshpande in the last game and we picked him even though he returned 0/31 in the first game. However, his 2/36 in the next game proved how valuable he can be. I’d skip the captain Iqbal Abdulla.
