The 2019 National T20 Cup has begun in Pakistan and we had a double header on the opening day and we have another double header here today on the second day of the season. First game of the day and we have Northern Punjab in action in Match 3 as they face off against Southern Punjab. It’s at the same pitch where the first two games were played at Faisalabad.

Northern Punjab
The team will be captained by Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim who had a good series against Sri Lanka recently including a top score of 47 in the 2nd T20I. In the bowling department, Shaheen Shah Afridi is not available for this game but they have the very experienced T20 bowler Sohail Tanvir in the squad who you shouldn’t miss in your fantasy team. Tanvir picked 7 wickets and scored a best of 68 in 4 LA games for Punjab earlier this year.
Mohammad Amir is another bowler who shouldn’t be missed in your squad, picking 3 wickets in the final game against Sri Lanka. With the bat, youngsters Rohail Nazir and Haider Ali will open the innings. Wicket-keeper batsman Nazir is captain of the U-19 team and has been piling on the runs in recent months and so is Ali. Both have been prolific run scorers and it’ll be interesting to see if they can score in this open age group tournament.
Southern Punjab
The Southern Punjab team will be led by Shan Masood who last played 5 ODIs for Pakistan earlier this year against Australia and top scored with 50. All-rounders are key in T20 cricket and we have two very experienced all-rounders in this team in Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. The latter recently scored 317 runs and picked 6 wickets in 12 games at CPL 2019 where his team lost the final.
Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Irfan will lead the bowling attack and while Irfan has been out of action since a while, Riaz has been in good rhythm and picked 4 wickets in 4 games against Sri Lanka.
