African country Uganda set out on a tour of Qatar where they are scheduled to play 3 T20Is between 12-13 February at the same venue in Doha. We’re all set for the 2nd T20I of the series after the hosts Qatar won the first by a huge margin of 40 runs. They lost the toss and were put in to bat by Uganda, smashing a massive score of 201/2 after their allotment of 20 overs.
After the first game, it’ll become easier for fantasy players to choose their team combinations, as quite a few players from the original squad who we thought might play didn’t end up playing. Now, we have a clearer idea on who to select and who not to. Keep reading for our complete MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy preview of the QAT vs UGA 2nd T20I…

Form (recent first)
- QAT: W W W W W
- UGA: L NR W L L
- Qatar – 22nd on the ICC T20I Rankings.
- Uganda – 35th on the ICC T20I Rankings.
- Arnold Otwani – 4 catches and 66* vs Hong Kong in Dec 2019.
Prior to this series, Muhammad Tanveer had a couple of forties and a fifty in his last 6 games including a few big scores in the recent Qatar T10 League. He proved his worth once again, smashing 57(34)* in the 1st T20I even though he’s now 39 years old. Kamran Khan also brought up back to back T20I fifties, scoring 50(35) after a fifty against Jersey late last year.
Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammed Rizlan created quite a stir in the Qatar T10 League, pulling out some remarkable shots and contributing in almost every game. Though he didn’t bat in the first T20I, I’ll pick him in my QAT vs UGA fantasy side. Awais Malik picked up 2/30 in the 1st T20I but my main bowling pick will be Gayan Munaweera who bagged 1 in that game and has 15 wickets in his last 10 games.
There was plenty of rumours going around that Brian Masaba would captain the side but he wasn’t even playing. Instead, it was wicket-keeper Arnold Otwani who marshalled the troops in the 1st T20I and he has been in some good form as well, though he bagged a golden duck in the first game. With 6 sixes and a total of 66(32), Frank Akankwasa seems like quite the T20 hitter, so he should be picked too.
If I had to pick a bowler for my MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team, it would be left-arm spinner Henry Ssenyondo who bagged 9 wickets in 5 games prior to the start of this series. In the last game, he was the only bowler who wasn’t taken to the cleaners, ending with figures of 0/22 in 4 overs, which was extremely respectable given the massive 200+ total put up by Qatar.
