Sri Lanka W vs England W – 2nd ODI Fantasy Preview

England Women have been on the road for quite some time now. Recently, they beat India women in India and then, they moved over to Sri Lanka, where they won the 1st ODI by a huge margin of 154 runs. They’re all set to kick on the advantage and make it 2-0 today as they face Sri Lanka Women in the 2nd ODI.

Obviously, the men’s team is having a tough time, but the women’s team was never too talented to begin with. An England victory is almost certain but for those who want a complete fantasy preview of the 2nd ODI, here’s the right place to be at. The week begins with this women’s match at Hambantota. Sri Lanka vs England Women 2nd ODI Fantasy preview

Sri Lanka Women

They are playing at home but they need big contributions from their experienced players if they are to even compete with England Women. Nilakshi De Silva (45) and Oshadi Ranasinghe (51*) were the main contributors with the bat in the 1st ODI and I’ll retain these players in my team for the 2nd ODI. A win here is a must if they want to stay alive in the 3-match ODI series, before the 3 T20s begin.

Prasadani Weerakkody is a viable option for your wicket-keeper for this game as choosing England’s Amy Ellen Jones could hurt your budget, even though she made 79 in the 1st ODI. I’d suggest a 6-5 team in favour of Sri Lanka, while the 5 England picks could be more expensive ones.

England Women

Katherine Brunt and Anya Shrubsole are in brilliant form with the ball, and the former could even make a good captain or vice-captain, as she tends to chip in with the bat as well. Brunt had 5 wickets in 2 T20s against India, succeeding her 5 wickets in 3 ODIs as well.

Talking about good form, there’s no one in better form than Danielle Wyatt, who had a fifty in the ODIs against India, followed by another unbeaten fifty in the T20s. Then, a 47 in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka means the form continues. Expect both teams to go in with unchanged or similar teams today.
