From my little experience of doing women cricket fantasy previews, all I can say is that it’s hard. It’s really hard to know who’s playing and who isn’t. There’s a scarcity of information when it comes to these games and pre-match news is conveyed very slowly. I’m going to go in with a 6-5 fantasy team in favour of Sri Lanka. With the complete incompetence of the home team, there’s a high chance only 3-4 England batters get a hit, so pick 3 Sri Lanka batters. Oshadi Ranasinghe is a must have in your team as she is a bowler and she top scored in the 1st T20 too, so we have a high-value player here.
30, 22, 6, 8 are captain Chamari Athapaththu’s score against England so far and being one of the best in the team, it’s high time she gets a good score. Imalka Mendis is another player you should have in your fantasy team for the 2nd T20. She just got 14 in the last game but for the team’s current circumstances, that’s a good score – she was the 2nd highest scorer in the last game.
England Women
I was against picking Amy Ellen Jones as her continuous performances in the last one month or so has made her a very good pick in fantasy sides. However, she is an opening batter and would get chances more than the rest. Her consistency too is something you cant ignore anymore, with 4 fifties in her last 5 international innings. Jones is my captain for this encounter.
Now there are some more very good English players who are always responsible for their wins. While the Sri Lankan ones are less expensive, pick 5 expensive English players. Some of your options are Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight, Natalie Sciver and Danielle Wyatt. Knight and Sciver are all-rounders and could be a choice for your vice-captain while Wyatt has been in brilliant form too.
