The U-19 Challenger Trophy has been scheduled between 11-17 November and 4 teams will be playing 8 games during this time. Apart from the Indian A, B, and C teams, the tournament has invited the Nepal A side to be a part of the competition as well. Nepal A will be in action right away as they play one of the two games scheduled on 11 November. The other game is between India A and India B.
This game will be played at Vijaywada, with Nepal’s youth team playing against India C. The Indian side will obviously start as favourites as these players have been continuously exposed to high-level tournaments in recent months. - Tournament: 2019 U-19 Challenger Trophy.
- Date: 11th November 2019, 9:00am IST.
- Venue: Vijaywada.
- Capacity: Unknown.
- Series status: Round robin stage.
Form (recent first)
- IND-C: –
- NEP-Y: –
- Shubhang Hegde – 69 runs vs Bangladesh U-19 in August 2019.
- Divyaansh Saxena – 3 fifties and 2 centuries in last 10 games.
- 45, 32, 54 – Rit Gautam in 4 games for Nepal U-19 in September.
First person to pick in your fantasy team will be Shubhang Hegde as the player has been representing India U-19 since quite a while, while also playing in the recent Karnataka Premier League. He has an FC best of 4/74 in the only game played so far and he will captain India C today. Behind the stumps, we have Kumar Kushagra set to keep wickets, but with no great scores in recent times.
Not a lot of details are available but we expect Divyaansh Saxena, Arjun Azad, Pradosh Rajan Paul, and Shashwat Rawat to also be starters in this game. 18-year old Divyaansh Saxena has five 50+ scores in his last 10 games for India U-19 and he could be your captain or vice-captain today, with only one single-digit score in those last 10 games.
The team will be led by batsman Rit Gautam and since there isn’t much clarity on the team, pick him first in your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team. He has been consistent with the bat in recent games. Arun Airee is another sure starter who has a best of 70* and 2/37 in his last 10 games in the domestic circuit, meaning he’s handy with bat and ball both.
Keep a watch on 15-year old Tilak Raj Bhandari who seems to be a sure starter with 7 wickets in 4 games in U-19 cricket. He picked 3 wickets on debut against China U-19 and is one to watch out for. Another certain starter is 15-year old Kushal Malla who has also played 3 T20Is for Nepal and comes with international exposure already. Pick him even though he has 0 wickets in those 3 T20Is.
