The Vijay Hazare Trophy is currently the most talked-about domestic tournament taking place in the country, with a number of matches scheduled each day. Among the matches scheduled for 8th October is a game between Delhi and UP. Another big game for the day is that between Vidarbha and Haryana, both of whom haven’t been able to get in too many games, due to the unreasonable weather conditions.
Vidarbha has had a total of 5 scheduled matches so far, losing two and losing another 3 to rain which means they are yet to open their account this tournament. On the other hand, Haryana has won 2 of their 5 games, with one loss and 2 being lost to the bad weather. - Head to head in the Vijay Hazare Cup, Vidarbha leads 1-0.
- Wasim Jaffer so far in this tournament – 1 and 7.
- Sumit Kumar – 135 runs, 8 wickets in 3 games this tournament.
- Chaitanya Bishnoi in the 2019 tournament – 0, 4, and 2.
The batting department will be handled by the very experienced Faiz Fazal and captain Wasim Jaffer. Jaffer hasn’t had the best tournament so far with two single digit scores but prior to that, he had 4 50+ scores in his last 8 outings for Abahani Ltd. On the other hand, Fazal has 100+ runs in his 2 outings so far.
Shrikant Wagh is a good all-round option. While he hasn’t managed to pick up any wicket so far in two games, he’s managed scores of 21 and 15. Another good bowling option is Akshay Wakhare who had 2 fifers in the recent 2019 Duleep Trophy and has 2 wickets in 2 games so far in this tournament. Atharva Taide has also failed so far with 6 and 3 with the bat and just one wicket so far, but there’s plenty of potential here.
First name on my team sheet is going to have to be Sumit Kumar who has 2 fifties in 3 games and just one dismissal, with an average of 135 along with one fifer with the ball already. With the bat, Chaitanya Bishnoi is a good option even though he’s managed all single-digit scores so far. He’s a great talent who has signed for CSK for IPL 2019 and we even had a small chat with him earlier this year. See here!
India’s leading leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has only 1 wicket in 3 games so far in the tournament but he’s surely going to be in my MyFab11(sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team because of his loads of experience. With 4 wickets in 3 games so far, captain Amit Mishra is also a must have in your fantasy team for this game.
