Another three games were scheduled today as part of the ongoing Women’s Cricket Super League (WCSL) 2019. The late evening game is always the most anticipated one and today, it’s Match 20 – Lancashire Thunder vs Loughborough Lightning. Both teams haven’t performed upto potential in the 2019 Kia Super League.
As for Lancashire, they’ve not managed a single win in 6 games so far, with 5 losses and a tied game in all. Loughborough has been better with 3 wins in 6 games, but still far from the top spot. Keep reading for our Fantain (Use Code “READ123”) fantasy preview of the Thunder vs Lightning game…

- Head to head in last 4 games, Loughborough leads 3-1.
- Harmanpreet Kaur – 210 runs in 6 games in WCSL 2019.
- Sune Luus – 5 single-digit scores in 6 games.
- Hayley Matthews – 106 runs, 6 wickets so far.
Firstly, I’ll pick our very own Harmanpreet Kaur. Today captain of India’s T20 team, Kaur has risen over the years primarily because of her hitting abilities which she has proven in this league as well, so we can’t drop her. 23-year old Sune Luus also makes my team. She has had many failures but a best of 62 shows her ability while she has bowled in all of her last 3 games as well.
We have plenty of options with the ball. Leading wicket-taker for them is Emma Lamb (8 wickets), captain Katie Cross (7 wickets) and Sophie Ecclestone (7 wickets) and you can even select all three bowlers if you wish as they have brought in the most fantasy points for this team.
I’m a huge fan of all-rounders and none get better than Hayley Matthews in the shortest format, so I can’t miss this all-rounder in my Fantain (Use Code “READ123”) fantasy team. She has picked up at least a wicket in each of her last 4 games while she has a fifty in the tournament as well.
Scottish captain Kathryn Bryce is also another worthy all-rounder who has 5 wickets and 10 runs (2 batting innings) so far. Remember, she had 99 runs in two T20Is for Scotland before coming here. With the bat, pick South Africa’s Mignon du Preez who currently has 180 runs in 5 games in the 2019 WCSL.
