Zimbabwe vs UAE – 2nd ODI Fantasy Preview

So United Arab Emirates (UAE) decided to travel down to Zimbabwe for a series of 4 ODIs, boosted by the return of three of their players who were earlier banned by the board for a few months. However, that wasn’t good enough for them as they were thrashed in the 1st ODI, getting bowled out for 110 and then losing the game by 7 wickets.

They now get a chance to prove themselves again in Harare, where Zimbabwe have played a majority of their ODI cricket over the years. Let’s not forget though, that the hosts are playing without their batting mainstays Brendan Taylor and Hamilton Masakadza, both out with injuries. They are also playing without former captain Graeme Cremer, who has taken a ‘temporary break’ from cricket. Zimbabwe

So the hosts improved their bad record at this ground by winning the first game. What’s next? A few more easy wins, if you ask me. Honestly, I don’t see Zimbabwe changing their team but there will be changes in my fantasy team for sure. Because of the sheer dominance expected, play a 7-4 team in favour of Zimbabwe and make both your captain as well as vice-captain from this team. I’d pick all three pacers in Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chatara and Donald Tiripano.

Sikandar Raza is one of the best all-rounders in the world and he was my automatic choice for captaining the last game. He picked up 1/21 in 10 overs in the 1st ODI, but he may not get the chance to bat long innings with the bat as UAE will find it tough to pick wickets. For this 2nd ODI, I’ll make Raza my vice-captain and go for the swashbuckling Solomon Mire as my captain. He struggled with 11(25) in the last game but if he starts chasing that leather, he can be unstoppable.

UAE

Chirag Suri happens to be the only UAE player to have been a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), so we know that there’s talent overflowing there. An 8(18) in the 1st ODI meant he failed miserably but I’d pick him in my team every time. Although, I’d like to see him batting as an opener, and the experienced former captain Rohan Mustafa at number #3 or #4.

Mustafa is another person who is a 100% pick in my team because of his all-round antics in the past for UAE. Captain Mohammad Naveed also makes my fantasy team for this 2nd ODI as I believe he can be a skiddy customer and if UAE have any chances of picking early wickets, it’s through Naveed. Shaiman Anwar is a highly popular fantasy pick for UAE but I’d choose to make a gamble and drop this player.
