India vs Pakistan in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy – Live at 3pm on 4th June!

Does it get any better than this?

The famous Indo-Pak cricket rivalry is back again and what a better way to celebrate your Sunday than this?

Pakistan came through narrowly against Bangladesh in the warm up game while India smashed apart Bangladesh in their warm up. How’s that for an indicator of which team is favourite to win today? To add to that, India have never lost to Pakistan in a major world tournament. So will it be India all the way today as well?

One dampener would be the fact that the game is being played in Edgbaston where a majority of the games get washed out and trust me, that’s the last thing cricket fans all around the world will want today. The last game played here a couple of days back (Australia v New Zealand) was also washed out and that was a pretty important game as well.

It will be Virat Kohli leading India for the first time in a major world tournament and having won both warm up games, the Men in Blue seem ready for this clash. We at Read Scoops are showing our patriotism and hoping India start their campaign on a winning note.

Ajinkya Rahane had a couple of failures which means that Rohit Sharma may have the edge to partner Shikhar Dhawan at the top. Dhawan had a brilliant IPL and had two good outings in the warm ups as well. He also scored a ton of runs in the 2013 Champions Trophy which was also in England so we expect him to continue the run scoring.

Pakistan on the other hand may have a small dilemma when it comes to choosing their pace attack. They have three left arm pacers in Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Junaid Khan but I suspect that they will go in with only two of them – Junaid may be benched for this encounter.

Go India!
