Haryana beat Gujarat, Bulls Titans End Up In Tie

Nagpur, 08 Aug:  Match Number 18 Gujarat Fortunegiants were defeated by Haryana Steelers with a huge margin of 12 points. Match Number 19 Bengaluru Bulls and Telugu Titans ends up in draw.

The first match was played at Mankapur Indoor Stadium in Nagpur between Gujarat Fortunegiants and Haryana Steelers. Both the teams had played 2 matches before this game and both have won a game each.

Surjeet Singh provided the necessary start for the Haryana Steelers with 2 raid points in Initial minutes of the game. It was a very competitive first half as the steelers were leading by only 4 points (13 – 9). Brilliant performance from the captain Surender Nada (6 points) and his fellow companion Mohit Chhillar (7 points), Haryana Steelers defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants by 12 points. Not to forget Vikas Khandola who provided the steelers with crucial 6 raid points.

The second was game played at the same venue between Bengaluru Bulls and Telugu Titans. Telugu Titans were looking for some comeback as they have lost 5 out of 6 games that they played at their home. Both the teams were looking very confident today and the raiders were finding it very difficult to steal points.

A very close first half finish where Bulls were leading the game by just a point (9 – 8). The second game was much more exciting than the first half, with a fantastic climax. Bulls played really well in the second half with two all outs on Titans, with the last two minutes remaining they were 5 points ahead (20 – 15) against the Titans. A successful 2 points raid from rakshit, also getting a green card from umpire. Then Rohit Kumar’s unsuccessful raid following a 2 point raid from captain Rahul Chaudhary which level up the score 20 – 20.

Ashish Kumar and Rahul Chaudhary scored one point each in the last raid of their respective teams and the game ended in a tie with both team scoring 21 points. This is the second draw in Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 5.
