Pro Kabaddi League Final 2017 – Title Hat Trick for Patna Pirates

Chennai, 28 Oct:  Pro Kabaddi League Final, Gujarat Fortunegiants vs Patna Pirates was played at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.

After a long journey of 13 weeks and after playing over 137 matches so far two teams made it to the final of Pro Kabaddi League 2017. Gujarat Fortunegiants and Patna Pirates were the two teams that fought for the Pro Kabaddi Title today.

Gujarat Fortunegiants are playing their Inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi League and they have done exceptionally well to come this far. Gujarat has been the most consistent team of this season and had played really well under the captain Fazel Atrachali along with coach Manpreet Singh.

Patna Pirates, the team of champions were defending their title against for the second time. Led by the “Dupki King” Pradeep Narwal Patna Pirates have made a great progress in the last two season of Pro Kabaddi League 2017.
Patna Pirates heavily rely on their Riaders Monu Goyat and Pradeep Narwal and they are really capable of winning the match from nowhere. 

The story of the first half!

First half was very exciting as both teams were playing with full force in the final. Initial raids were empty but then scoreboard was moving very fast. Monu Goyat provided the 2 points lead in second raid for Patna Pirates, Sukesh Hegde then returning the favor in just 4 minutes game putting Gujarat in lead. Next 10 mins Gujarat were in the hot seat with their defense doing well to keep them ahead of Patna Pirates.

Pradeep Narwal the “Dupki King” changed the course of the in the 15th minute by bagging 5 points for the team and leveling the score 15 – 15. Next remaining minutes were a close encounter but Pradeep Narwal kept his nerves and Patna were in the lead at the end of the first Half. The score was Gujarat Fortunegiants 18 – 21 Patna Pirates.

And the second half continues!

Second half was a pure game of dominance showed by Patna Pirates as they never allowed Gujarat to overcome the lead. A lot of Green Card were issued in the second half and it was to be as both team were pushing hard at each other. Fazel Atrachali was under a great pressure and was the first person to receive the Green Card from the umpire. 

As the match progressed the game was slipping from the hands of Gujarat Fortunegiants. Pradeep Narwal was unstoppable in the second half and the defense of Gujarat Fortunegiants looked out of plans for “Dupki King”.
