Game-Week 7 Preview: Battle Of The Blues!

After the Champions League midweek, English Premier League is back and promises some exciting fixtures. All English teams won in Europe except for Liverpool who suffered another frustrating draw away at Spartak Moscow.

Huddersfield start the action with a home game against Tottenham. Spurs have won all their away games(3) so far and will be looking for another win. Huddersfield are a good defensive unit and Spurs would be wary of this. Expecting a Spurs win as Harry Kane has been on fire recently with 5 goals in 2 matches including the hat-trick in the Champions League.

Bournemouth welcome Leicester City as both teams are in dire need of points. Leicester’s poor form off late should be a concern for their manager while Bournemouth are under immense pressure for points. Leicester would be hoping to win this one and kickstart their season. Looks like its gonna be a tough long season for Bournemouth.

Manchester United have never lost to Palace in their last 16 matches(13 wins, 3 draws) and would want another victory to put some pressure on Manchester City who play later that day. As both Manchester clubs are level on points with City having a higher goal difference, a win would put United on top of the table before Man City plays. A rather unconvincing win for United in the last week against Southampton should worry Mourinho as he knows a slip up can cost the team. United are expected to win this comfortably and heap some more misery on Palace. Crystal Palace are going nowhere this season and need a massive boost, a sort of miracle to put their season back on track and for their fight to survive in the PL. Will Palace score their first goal of the season at Old Trafford? Will have to wait and watch as the fixtures are looking bleak for Palace. Only a miracle can save Palace at Old Trafford.

Southampton visit Stoke with both teams suffering a loss in their previous matches with Stoke conceding 4 goals against Chelsea. Southampton are the better side and should win this match. Expecting an exciting contest and a narrow win.

West Brom play Watford at home and would be wary of the Watford team who are in a great run of form. Silva has done a fantastic job at Watford and the team has rewarded their boss with some great performances. With Gareth Barry the PL’s record appearance maker, West Brom will have to work hard to get a result. Watford are expected to win this and continue their impressive run of form.

West Ham against Swansea pits two teams against each other who are in desperate need of points and a morale booster. Both suffered a loss and a draw in their previous 2 matches. West Ham to nick through a result in this one.

MATCH OF THE WEEK

It’s a clash of the Titans, the biggest game of the season so far. Its also a battle of the master tacticians, Conte vs Pep. Antonio Conte has revolutionised the Premier League ever since he’s been to Chelsea. His 3-5-2 formation has proved to be a big success and other managers have followed suit. With their recent 2-1 comeback win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League being hailed as one of the best performance by an English side on foreign soil, Chelsea are brimming high on confidence. Also the return of Eden Hazard makes them very strong.

Manchester City has scored 16 goals in their last 3 PL games and are all guns blazing at the moment. However the injury to Aguero should be a worry for City but with the way Jesus has played so far this season they have much to look forward to this match. City are unstoppable at the moment and the Chelsea match is a perfect opportunity for them and pundits alike to challenge their authority in this seasons Premier League. This match should be a cracker but I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams settle for a draw. However on Conte’s home form and approach am expecting a narrow victory for Chelsea.

Arsenal welcome Brighton at The Emirates. Brighton have impressed so far and would be looking for a standout performance in this match. Arsenal can get complacent at home and Brighton would love to exploit that fact. However with Arsenal’s recent good run, a victory seems more likely.

Everton play Burnley. Everton are struggling at the moment and Koeman is under immense pressure to deliver. Another disappointing result will make things worse for them. Burnley are a good side and are capable of causing an upset. Everton to win this hard fought game.

In the last game of the week, Liverpool visit Newcastle. Liverpool have been frustrating this season with their defense and Newcastle can cause them some trouble. Pool needs to win this to win back their fans. Expecting a keen contest and a Liverpool victory.

Enjoy folks, cheers!
