Australian Open 2018 – Day 3 Results (Nadal Into R3)

It was more or less smooth sailing for the top seeded men on Day 3 of the 2018 Australian Open, with the exception of Grigor Dimitrov, who survived a scare against unseeded American Mackenzie McDonald. Dimitrov eventually won in the final set and will move onto Round 3, like all of the other seeded men who played today.

In the women’s tournament, however, four seeded players had to head back home today with Daria Gavrilova, Julia Goerges, Daria Kasatkina and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova all getting knocked out. I was also personally very happy to see Ivo Karlovic go through to the 3rd Round, winning his game 12-10 in the final set!

The doubles action has also begun at the Australian Open and we’re going to continue having some great tennis action over the next ten days or so, all of which will be covered on Read Scoops. Here, we’ve listed down the results of all crucial games of Day 3.
