Australian Open 2018 – Day 5 Results (Nadal Into R4)

Day 5 of the 2018 Australian Open has concluded and everything went as per plan with no real shock exits in either the men’s or women’s tournaments. Star player Grigor Dimitrov got through in four sets while the local boy Nick Kyrgios won in four sets as well, as both progressed to the 4th Round of the tournament.

It was another breeze through for the men’s top seed Rafael Nadal, who beat Damir Dzumhur in straight sets to progress, while #2 women’s seed Caroline Wozniacki had a straight sets victory as well. Doubles actions has also been on in full swing and the Indian brigade is doing well in Australia thus far.

One of the best games of the day, however, has to be the Andreas Seppi-Ivo Karlovic one, where only one of the five sets was decided before the tie breaker. Ultimately, the 38-year old Croatian Karlovic was unable to hold on and was eliminated from the Australian Grand Slam. He fought an illness while battling in out on court.
