UPDATE: WhatsApp to Roll Out Feature That Lets You Use Different Fonts

WhatsApp is one app which you cannot do without on your smartphones these days. Although many ‘Instant Messaging’ apps have come out in the last 4-5 years, none have been able to beat the great WhatsApp. The main reason for this is that they’re always looking for ways to make themselves better and to improve their users’ experience as well.

The Facebook-owned WhatsApp has been rolling out new features every few months and in the last year, we’ve already seen so many updates such as status updates, voice and video calls, extra security and much more. Read this Tech Scoop to know about another WhatsApp feature (Recall feature) which will be out before you know it.

We at Read Scoops were the first to know about a couple of more updates that are here to make our experiences even better. Firstly, WhatsApp is working on allowing you to chat in multiple fonts and this feature could be out in a few weeks time.

Last year, WhatsApp allowed user to type in bold text, italic text and even strikethrough text. While this was very fascinating at first, it soon died down and now people barely use those features only because of the time and energy it took to manually format the text they wanted to. However, it’s all going to change now.

According to reports, the world’s most popular chatting app is making use of Android M’s customizable floating text toolbar to make this possible. All you will have to do is type out your text, select the text and choose a font from this toolbar. Exciting, yeah?

Along with this update, WhatsApp also plans on making the search for emojis easier where all you will have to do is type in a word or phrase and the app will provide you with the appropriate emoji. This feature is already available with emojis to a certain key words, but it’s only going to get better in the app’s next update.
